Tony Booth has spent two decades in automotive and motorsport engineering, taking new technology to market and scaling programmes from concept into production. His career has consistently placed him at the intersection of commercial strategy and technical delivery, on zero-emission vehicle programmes for brands including Aston Martin, Lotus and McLaren.
At Williams, spanning both the Grand Prix operation and Williams Advanced Engineering (WAE), Tony led the commercial function for seven years. During this period he implemented a go-to-market strategy for battery production, was appointed interim Managing Director, and took on the role of Programme & Commercial Director of Hyperbat, the joint venture between Williams and Unipart that he led from creation through to delivery. Hyperbat delivered the battery system for the Aston Martin Rapide E and won the multi-million pound Lotus Evija contract.
In parallel, Tony supported the exit of WAE to EMK Capital and subsequently to Fortescue Group. It was during this period that he began the battery end-of-life work that would become GreenTech Industries, working with key suppliers and establishing an IP ownership model with Williams and programme partners.
He went on to lead the McLaren Solus GT programme at KW Special Projects (KWSP), taking the vehicle from design concept through manufacture, procurement, validation, and production launch as Chief of Supply Chain, Programme and Sales. He also led the exit of KWSP into McLaren. It was during this period that he founded FOR3V3R Ltd, the R&D vehicle that became GreenTech Industries, running continuous battery end-of-life research in parallel and building the IP portfolio that underpins the business today.
What makes Tony's background unusual is the combination. He is trained to set up production lines to automotive and aerospace quality standards. He understands battery systems technically, has managed complex supply chains under production pressure, has led commercial negotiations with OEMs and tier-one suppliers, and has been in the leadership group for major brand exits. That combination is what GreenTech Industries needs as it transitions from proven R&D into industrial-scale operation.
